Post-harvest loss of banana in Jimma town market was accounted a total 26.5% the supply chain. Of these, more percent losses were being observed at retail (64.10%) and whole-salers level (35.90%). Mechanical damage followed by improper transport storage identified as main causes while fruit rotting ripening mechanical to level. Hence, current post-harvest management system is inadequate. There no sufficient attention given for It also that, there knowledge gap between respondents their experience proper handling techniques. Therefore, reduce banana, emphasis should be practices. The can minimized or prevented awareness creation, education training about importance losses, adopting better operations, careful packaging chain actors.
